Saving Time By Using A Steam Generator Iron

Ironing is, for the large majority of, a bit of a chore. It’s something that needs to be done, and on a regular basis, but very few people enjoy it. You can watch TV or listen to the radio whilst you’re ironing in an attempt to relieve the boredom a bit – but it’s never going to be what anyone would consider enjoyable.

However, many consumers now have the chance to significantly reduce the amount of time that they spend “doing the ironing” thanks to changes in technology. Steam generator irons have now become available for the domestic market. In the past, they were the mainly used by dry cleaners and professional cleaning firms. According to user feedback, the use of a Tefal steam generator iron can reduce your ironing time by as much as 50%.

In terms of appearance, steam generator irons look pretty similar to traditional steam irons – but with a large base unit. It’s the base unit that makes all the difference. Steam generator irons have no water in the body of the iron itself – that large base unit acts both as a water tank and boiler which is used to produce large volumes of high pressure steam. This is fed to the iron itself using a connecting tube.

Using the above technique, these irons generate a lot more steam than a standard steam iron. It is also at a higher pressure. This large qua

ntity of steam at high pressure penetrates deep into the fabric of the garment being ironed and makes it easier – and faster – to smooth out any wrinkles and creases. The finished garments will be of a better quality and, as previously discussed, you can reduce the amount of time that you waste ironing by as much as 50%.
